Maha Kumbh Mela 2013

Maha Kumbh Mela has a great spiritual significance for Indians and many others across the World. I got an opportunity to experience the feel of Maha Kumbh Mela held in the year 2013 at Prayag. I have been thinking of a new photo blog for quite sometime which happened now. I don't think there won't any better event than kumbh to start with. So let me share some of the wonderful view that was captured by my camera.

This beautiful sand structure caught up my eyes on the sand bed across the river Ganga during our night walk alongside the river.

Caught these beautiful ladies in my lens walking alongside the river at night in the glowing lights all over.

What a delightful sight isn't it? A chariot passing alongside the river in the lonely night and the lights glowing all over as if the stars have come down to Earth.

My friends and I have enjoyed every bit of our presence at Kumbh. I don't think we can relive this moment again. These pictures tell you all.

Beautiful Mana Village

Mana is the last Indian village from the border of India and Tibet in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. It is located in the district of Chamoli at an elevation of 3219 meters and is designated as the tourist village by the Government of Uttarakhand. Most of the tourists visiting Badrinath visits Mana as it is 3 Kms away from Badrinath. Early morning after the darshan of Badrinath two of companions Mr. & Mrs Varma left back to Hyderabad due to their prior commitments. Kamesh, Mani, Virupaksha, Tulsi and I visited Mana village the same day around 10 A.M. It is a small beautiful village with around 150-180 houses in the village. It is surrounded by some of these beautiful snow mountains. Mana is famous for its woollen garments and materials likes blankets, sweaters, shawls, mufflers, caps etc. mostly of sheep wool. For visitors I would advise them not to buy warmers in the cities but rather buy them here in Mana village. City w...

Rishikesh, Mussoorie and Haridwar

I heard many legends about "Rishikesh" since my childhood days. It is considered as Devi Bhoomi, the land of Gods and Tapo Bhoomi, the land of Penance. They say, many Gods lived here and great saints and sages did their tapas and attained enlightenment. Finally, after a long wait of 40 years I got a chance to visit Rishikesh. I must thank my teacher Smt. Zarna Mohan for conducting an Iyengar yoga workshop at Rishikesh. And how can I forget Parmeshwar ji who is responsible for the yoga workshop and our char dham yatra. Thank you Parmeshji. The major attraction of Rishikesh is off course the sacred river Ganga. You will find many temples, yoga and Ayurveda centers and ashrams across the banks of river. It is considered as World Capital of Yoga as well. I haven't found the Rishikesh I heard of. Lalbagh Revisited

We had a terrific beginning of the year 2018 with Iyengar Yoga Intensive at Bellur by a very profound Iyengar Yoga Teacher Rita Keller from Germany. This was our second consecutive workshop with her in Bellur. We were deeply touched by her affection and love apart from her deep intellectual and insightful teaching of yoga. Since the workshop was for 3 long weeks, she took us on an excursion to Lalbagh in Bengaluru. After two hours of bus ride we arrived at Lalbagh. Hyderabadi boys got disappointed when they found Rita Keller is booking EMV's (Electric Motor Vehicles) to explore the park. When we expressed our willingness to walk, she said we go round the corner in EMV's and then every individual is free to walk thereafter. We then happily boarded the EMV's.
